Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am the Technical Chiropractic Assistant, or Tech CA at Elmira Family Chiropractic. When you come in for an examination, I complete a health history and thorough neurospinal testing. What does that mean for you as the patient? It means I am gathering information to see what your nervous system is telling me. I perform balance and coordination testing, as well as computer testing to document where your body is under stress. These tests are crucial in developing your plan of care so that you can get the best results.
My Perspective & Journey with Chiropractic
For myself, I have been seeing a chiropractor for about 8 years. I first went to help with chronic headaches as a teenager. It was a struggle finding the right doctor to help me, since no one in my family had ever been to a chiropractor before. All of my doctors suggested massage, which helped, but it didn’t fix the cause of the problem. Finally, a neurologist suggested I see a chiropractor, and my road to wellness began. After a few months of being adjusted three times a week, I noticed a dramatic decrease in the amount of headaches. I have continued going to chiropractors since then because I love how healthy my body feels living life well-adjusted.
How I Saw Chiro Before & After
Previous to joining the team at Elmira Family Chiropractic, I knew chiropractic was good for me – but I didn’t really know why. Chiropractic hooked me from my first encounter 8 years ago. This is when I knew I would be a life-long patient. I had all of the tests done and saw an improvement in my life, but I wondered what it all meant. Now that I perform those same tests on others, I have a great deal more understanding and appreciation for the nervous system. Knowing why we do all of these tests makes a huge difference in commitment to care – especially for myself!
A Few Facts About Me
If you haven’t met me already, you might have seen me around the office and wondered who I am. My name is Alyssa, and I recently graduated from the Medical Health Office Administration program at Conestoga College. My college career began in BScN Nursing, but after a year I decided that it wasn’t a good fit for me. Health care is my passion, and I am thrilled to be a member of the amazing team at Elmira Family Chiropractic! I grew up in St. Jacobs, and I now call Elmira home. I’m getting married next year – so I am busy planning that! I am an avid cat-lover, and in my free time I enjoy crafting and spending time with my family.
