On this episode, we had a wonderful conversation with Sarah Vogel who is currently certifying to become a Doula. Sarah is a wealth of information when it comes to pre and postnatal care.
Throughout the episode she talked about many things related to birth and how she decided to become a doula including her birth story with here son Jackson. She talked about how this time in her life pushed her to want to help more women, especially in our community.

What is a doula?
For people who don’t know, a doula is a trained professional who provides non-judgmental support of families choices during pregnancy, birth and the newborn stage.

A doula provides 100% support during labour and delivery.
Doula care: Doulas support women through all phases of childbirth. prenatal visits, labour and delivery support as well as postpartum support. During the birth doulas help to create the space you want. Providing hands on support and comfort measures. Help with position changes, to heating pads, to ice chips and back massages. Assisting your partner with what to do next and how to support you, after delivery I will assist you with feeding options. Help you feel safe, confident and close to your baby.
Postpartum and newborn care: To help new parents with their new roles, there to help you during the most difficult times days and weeks after birth. My role is to educate, provide guidance and non-judgement support to you and your partner.
